How To Build Your Own Row Boat Oars – Out of 2×6 lumber

This is how i made oars out of 2×6 softwood lumber. I got two 8 foot length pieces from the lumber store, marked out cut lines for the handles and flared at the bottom for the paddle part, then used a jack plane to take off some of the sharp edges. It will take a bit more work but you get the idea and they work great apart from the fact that the paddles are a bit too buoyant, so I need to taper them and get rid of some of the buoyancy.
