We boiled down our first batch of sap. got about a half litre out of it. I expect much more this year, another few litres anyways. the tree has stopped for now though with the cold temperatures. The fluxuation however is good for production generally as the sap will flow all the more stronger when it warms up as if the sap season is starting fresh.
I also got to look after the neighbours chickens for a couple days. It sure is a neat thing to participate in, similar i suppose to havig a garden where you can see the full cycle of food production. Its a great learning experience for Arden as well to see where food comes from. It sounds a little silly that we need to see where food comes from these days. Sugar from trees, eggs from chickens, vegetables from the ground, meat from animals.
God is great and this earth is amazing
Genesis 9:3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
