Lindsey commented on my blogging style 2 weeks ago, she called it eclectic.

Adjective:
Deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
Noun:
A person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.

I take this as a complement. One of the things I always wanted to be was a good conversationalist with people I didn’t know, not necessarily a good small talker, but one who could speak intelligently about a wide range of subjects. Why? Well cause my dad could do that. I was always fascinated by the different people he would talk to on the street or church or wherever about ANYTHING. He could talk to blue collar folk, white collar, he could talk polictics, car engines and theology all at the same time.

He could hold a conversation with anyone about whatever that other person was interested in and speak from experience or knowledge found,… somewhere in time, or book.

I always thought that was cool, I wondered where he got that information. Had he actually at one point in time lived and experienced it all? For the most part, I think yes.

And so, I enjoy knowing and learning different things, whether they are my strengths or not, someone else knows it so how hard can it be to understand right?

Oh, and I have a short attention span so I get bored with things real fast and like to try out different sorts of jobs, tasks, etc so that helps 😉

I think its cool that I can realize some of the knowledge and ability that my dad showed and convey that in a conversation with people where my help is needed or the breeze is just being shot.

So thats what I thought of when called an eclectic blogger…
