(NKJV) Titus 2:6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded,(NKJV) Titus 2:7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,(NKJV) Titus 2:8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

So many of us are far from this standard. Did you know that God knows everything you look at and everything you do? He knows what videos and images you look at on facebook, from the boring funny photos to the slightly more sketchy photos / videos posted by your acquaintances that you hardly ever otherwise interact with. Or maybe you have a close friend who just posts crazy stuff that God most likely would not be amused with??

Of course, we know God knows everything – do we really GET that though?

How about this, facebook has a record of every photo you browse and click on and every youtube link you play. And any webpage you go to that has a facebook ‘like’ button means that facebook knows you went to that site too because there are tracking cookies. Knowing this, would you let your pastor go through your history logs on facebook and just double check those videos and pics you’ve been looking at?

If you don’t care about that stuff now, what about in 10 or 15 years (speaking to the churchgoers among us) when your name comes up for nomination as a church deacon? God forgave and forgives your sin, is man as forgiving if this stuff came up?

Moral of the story is, no time is too early to keep yourself pure, to orchestrate your life digitally and otherwise to prevent potentially damning or just plain questionable history from coming around again and causing problems.

God forgave us once and for all for our sin, even with that, we need to make every effort to live a pure life after accepting His salvation. Put into the modern vernacular, we need to ensure that what we do, whether in private or public is honouring to God. This is important so that our testimony isn’t diminished through things that we thought were private.

Every single person has these things that they need to deal with before Christ and I too.
