Is there anything bigger than this life?

Don’t stop and think about life for a second or 60, its potentially depressing.

I’ve got a pretty good life, couldn’t ask for anything more in worldly terms. I have my family, a roof over my head (and a big one at that), a lawn to cut in the summer and a drive to plough in the winter. I have good healthy, an extended family that doesn’t fight or anything. I haven’t been abused, no big emotional issues exist in my life.

Did you ever stop to think about how fleeting life is though? I have all of this, but I know exactly how long I have it for (well, I can guesstimate anyways). I’ll be able to enjoy this for only another 40 or 50 years at best. Thats all the time I have left if the Lord doesn’t return.

How can you live knowing that life is SO short, and if this is all that there is, what hope is there? How shallow is it then to just tell yourself to enjoy the time you have and to not think about the TRUE reality of eternity.

As Gods creation we are all eternal being and if you’re not saved, this is as good as it gets, and thats pretty depressing! 100 years of time max VS eternity.

Eternal damnation or Eternal paradise in the presence of Jesus. This is what the bible teaches and is a core truth of most denominations I think, Christian ones anyways. We don’t often like to preach on it though, not sure why… cause we would be excluding others unfairly? 😀

You need Jesus and you need to get over yourself and lift your eyes up to the horizon to see clearly what this life is and that there is an ever after coming real soon.

There is a LOT more than just this short life and we all need to realize that so that we can put things in perspective here on earth.

  1. Well, just remember, you’re not guaranteed your next breath either. I think about living to 60 or 70 and I can’t help my next thought that I’m not even sure to have my next moment. Carpe diem, I suppose.

  2. I don’t think we’ll live past the next 20 years, or 10 years for that matter but thats another story. Qualify everything with ‘should the Lord tarry’
