Looking for the Lords return

»Posted by on Aug 27, 2010 in General | 2 comments

Most of you reading this know I’m big into prophecy. I love the anticipation of the event and I love looking for the signs of the times. Its wonderful to know our salvation is real and our future is sure. Here is a good article I read today, I’ve read similar things many many times over but thought I’d share for those of you who weren’t up on the parallels between the days of Noah and our times. http://www.raptureready.com/featured/kelley/jack134.html As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man (Matt 24:37). The time leading up to the Great Flood was a lot like our time today in that it was characterized by a deliberate and escalating disregard for the ways of God. Finally “the Lord saw how great man’s...

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday

»Posted by on Aug 24, 2010 in General | 2 comments

A happy anniversary, (just the phrase, not necessarily the sentiment) and happy birthday go out to my mom and dad, and mom respectively. Today, if I’m right will be their wedding anniversary, and tomorrow will be moms birthday. Its almost the time when you don’t want to remember anything but I can’t just not remember anything, pretend like it never happened or whatever. I’d like to in some way remember each year these events to honour mom. So she knows we haven’t forgotten about her and that we miss her everyday. And its some pain even worse for my dad who may not have all the distractions I have 1800 miles away with a new baby etc.  Losing a parent is really hard, and I know so many others go through it, every day in fact, and...

The weekend is over

Easter weekend is over for me, back to work as usual. Every weekend for us is busy I need a weekend after the weekend to relax and do nothing. Had  a busy time practicing for the easter musical presentation, it took us being inside the church all saturday basically (which was the first of 2 super great warm and sunny days – sunday was awesome too!)  Then of course sunday morning was the pres, then we rushed to enjoy the sun and the ocean at Victoria By The Sea. Soon enough we were headed back to the church for evening worship practice and the inevitable 2 hour service.  Its just a long day for us. I’m sitting here sniffling with a bit of a cold or … something, same as what Lindsey had / has  (I just got past one of these 2 weeks ago  ....

House searching

»Posted by on Feb 12, 2010 in General | 0 comments

Man its fun and stressful looking for a house. So many shapes / sizes / lots to look through. Do we want a real nice house in a town on stamp sized land, or do we get one in the boonies with more property that maybe needs some work? Should we get something sub 100k and use the extra money to fix it or buy something for 140k and not have to worry about fixing it? I’d love to have an acreage – doesn’t everyone?? How much is enough, 1 acre, 5 acres, 75 acres? And what about the resale value of the place, will it sell well if we decide to move in 10 years? All things we need to consider. We need a place where we can bring up our kids, where they can roam, where we can roam , it needs trees, a forest, and really, it kinda needs a stream or river of...

Back on the Island

I would hate to simply think that life goes on after the passing of such a close family member. In a way, it does, but in our thoughts somehow life isn’t as smooth, it doesn’t pass without a care anymore. Maybe the thoughts of death and what the future holds for us come real close now. I reflect more now on how short life is really, like the wind or a breath as it says in the bible For we are like a breath of air; our days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4 Sometimes I really want to hold on to this life, hold on to youth, hold on to all the memories and good things that have happened and yet they slowly get farther and farther away, you can’t hold onto all the things you want to, you can only move forward and continue making fresh new...
