Muzzled

I’m feeling less and less able to say what I really think in my blog posts. Not that its a totally wrong thing really. Thing is, everything I say and do first of all *should* reflect Christlikeness. Beyond that, I have to watch what I say since this blog is open to the world. I need to ensure I don’t say something off the cuff about my job that might be taken wrong, or about say, my webdesign stuff, as it all rolls into how people portray me, whether I get a job or not, whether my current 9 to 5 employers see me as an asset or liability. With so many people able to get to my blog, its less of a ‘between friends’ thing and more of a public persona thing and the latter is what I need to ensure is well groomed. Not untruthful, but measured,...

Coffee Time

»Posted by on Feb 6, 2011 in General | 0 comments

No, not the chain, its just time at which I drink coffee. Have a cup of french pressed java – with REAL cream no less! Sitting in Ajax, had a great sleep, looking forward to not worrying about anything, and relaxing.  We have relatives to visit, cemeteries to trample on and gasoline to burn. btw, I think I’ve used this pic before but its funny so I’ll use it again. I hear there is piles of snow in PEI, too bad we’re missing it. Our driveway will be well packed by the time we get back I’m sure, poor Josh has to find is way into the house somehow. We definitely appreciate Josh Singh! This is a ‘shout out’ as cooler people might say. btw, you can see Joshs Wordpre… sigh.. Tumblr (micro blog) here:...

kids are scared of old people

Yes… yes they are   We had a good sermon last night about the generations coming together, the older folk sharing wisdom with the younger, and mentoring and providing care and support both ways. All kinds of good things can come out of the generations getting together and interacting. We don’t interact much cross generationally anymore and its caused us to forget history, stories, even names of family members not in our immediate family. Simply because we don’t spend time much together as large extended families like they did before, like they had to before to survive, before the days of nursing homes and retirement condos and facilities. So why are kids scared of old people? I think, and this would be true for me, we don’t want to talk...

Thanks giving post

I thank the Lord for so many good things He has given us, a warm house, a beautiful daughter, a good marriage, a good church family, a wonderful life. God has been really good to us and I would like to honour Him and be good stewards of what He has given us in some way. Still looking for the best ways to do this. For anyone who doesn’t know God, this is a great sum up of Christianity and what I believe: (I’ve posted this before but its worth a repost) As for things, I’ve gimped up my arm, not sure how, stacking firewood, or hauling lumber for decks,… I dunno. Had to stop using our wood furnace last night too, the connection at the water coil is leaking :/ This was attempt number  2 at sealing it. Its part of a larger soldered piping...

Great visit and great visitors

»Posted by on Jul 13, 2010 in General | 0 comments

We had visitors from both BC and Ontario this weekend. Getting lots of visitors this summer, they just keep coming and we’re enjoying it! Busy busy with the new house and baby AND visitors but its still great fun. We had Cindy and Cliff, Tim and Rebecca over from BC for the whole weekend, a short time but great catching up. Need to get over to BC one of these years! We also had a visit from Dan Carolyn and Nathan. Played some pooled, had a great time yet short again. Its awesome how so many people come here for vacation and we’re able to open our home to them, enjoy great company and make use of the things God has blessed us with, ie an awesome home and roof over our head and blessing abundant! And below is a random beach image, testing my WPG2...
