the father of a son
I’m a proud father and now a proud father of a son. We have our ‘million dollar family’ as some like to call it. One thing is for sure, I’m glad God wasn’t satisfied with the million dollar family (i.e. Adam and Eve) otherwise I wouldn’t be here today. Psalms 127 has these verses: 3: Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. 4: Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. 5: How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates. Its so cool and exciting to be a dad and tiring at the same time. We definitely don’t have time to do the things we want to do all the time. We used to go to the beach on a...
My new best friend, the mirror
So timemachine tanks every month or 2, says it wants to rebuild the whole backup file again which is an uber pain. So, before it can create a new file it has to delete the original of course which means you no longer have a backup until its complete again and a complete backup takes about 24 hours (almost 400gigs). I’ve blogged on time machine before and its issues, but to remedy this consistent issue I finally realized a good way to get a copy of the data without having to create a new backup file with something other than time machine. With my Netgear Stora, granted not the most popular unit and definitely a consumer level only unit, I’m able to create a mirror, aka, RAID1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID In RAID 1 (mirroring without parity or...
Baby Blog
How can I have a fresh new baby and not blog about it right? Born April 17, at 9:58am is Jack Barrett Gallant, at a healthy 8lbs 4 ounces. The whole thing was relatively easy / uncomplicated which was a change from the first one where they thought Arden was in distress or something. Turned out not to be the case but they took steps to be sure. We spent 7 days or so in the hospital that time, felt like we’d never get out. As of writing this, we’ve been in the hospital only a day and a half or so and should be getting discharged tomorrow sometime! Yahoo, won’t feel like we’re totally living in it! (Yes, I’ve been sleeping in the hospital room, thankfully PCH, aka Prince County Hospital, has little pull out daddy beds, though the room...
Morning fisherman
Not that you can see them so well but these are the first few of the fisherman that frequent the river. I really don’t think they ever get much, as our river,… Unfortunately… Is kinda dead do to lack of oxygen cause of chemicals and garbage over the years. Its nice entertainment though, not that there’s a lot of action, but always some kind of activity outside. I would love to see the day when people were catching fish there again! I did try out my fishin rod last year, caught nothing of course, I’m a horriblly impatient but the sport in itself is a kinda relaxing one. Today is Sunday, this might be the day the baby wants to come out. Sure is a nice sunny day for it! Birds are chirping, sun is hot and bright, people are out and...
2012s first photo album update
Here is a quick update, some of the sites and scenes of the first few months of 2012. Really haven’t been updating my ‘old’ album. I do like these little inline ones much nicer though! And I really don’t know a whole consolidated library online… I think I’ll stick with these little albums for now. Enjoy! Slideshow: Fullscreen: Download:
