Unicorns in the bible
Did you know unicorns are in the bible? They actually exist in the King James Version. Modern translations write it as Wild ox or other animals. There isn’t however any specific reason not to believe the KJV is correct in its description. Though its not a maker / breaker subject, its fascinating because it adds to the conjecture and plausible thought of dinosaurs with man and the idea that mythical creatures as we call them now were in fact real animals and are now extinct. (KJV) Job 39:9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/aid/v2/n1/unicorns-in-bible Modern readers have trouble with the Bible’s unicorns because we forget that a single-horned feature is not uncommon on...
Chinese Calendar and the Dragon
I mentioned the Mayan calendar and its origins, made sometime just after the biblical flood lending evidence to a young earth and that the bible is true on mans origins. I detailed it in this blog: http://micahgallant.com/2011/12/21/mayan-long-count Another fascinating calendar that I don’t think I’ve spoken on much, is the chinese calendar. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_calendar), its starting date was about 3000 years before Christ (note, not ‘before Christian Era which is how they want you to say it now to be inclusive ) There is no universally agreed upon “epoch” or starting point for the Chinese calendar. Tradition holds that the calendar was invented by Emperor...
Living Backwards
My question of the day is, why is it cheaper, healthier and generally more fun to do things the old fashioned way? Some examples: Maple Syrup – you can tap your own trees with very basic equipment and boil it down for less then the cost of purchasing it at the grocery store. Its right there, out your window in spring time Apples – grow an apple tree and get KNOWN organic, fresh apples for FREE. You know where they were grown, from where they traveled (across your yard), how fresh they are, whether they’ve been injected with growth hormones (i hope you don’t inject your apple tree with growth hormones :S) Coffee – You can purchase your coffee ground from the store for an amount of money, or you can take one step back and buy...
Mayan Long Count
A hot topic prophetically speaking (not necessarily bible prophecy) is the Mayan calendar, more specifically the long count calendar. Much of the world knows about this because of the 2012 end of the world prediction through this long count system, or at least the end of an era according to this calendar. I like mysteries and conspiracies so I enjoy learning about these things whether they mean anything or not. What I like about really really old cultures and their stories / myths is that often you can see a hint if not more of the creation story. Often its long told stories of a great flood that happened, recorded in the bible as Noahs flood, or stories about the creation of man, how the world was created. All those stories between cultures from one...
What is your worldview?
What is a worldview and why does it matter? Whether you’re discussing a young earth vs billions of years, evolution, the existences of God etc, what it all comes down to is your worldview. You inclination to aceept or at least review critically with an open mind the evidence depends on your worldview, your initial base thoughts which are all but unconscious things. Why don’t people accept creationist evidence even though its peer reviewed, and generated by excellent minds, PHDs and the like? Its because they are biased by their worldview. Even christians have a worldview so this is for all to understand and at minimum be aware of its existance, check out the vid below detailing...
