Man with broom
Now that we have child, I’m obligated, guilted into, and / or responsible as a parent to clean up after said child. Now as brooms go, we have the top-of-the-line whisker fast red brand broom and associated pan. Problem is, everytime I sweep, I think to myself, there must be a better way… There’s gotta be right? It would be my dream, and first choice I think to get one of those wide gym brooms. You know the 4 foot wide ones? You could do the whole floor in a quarter of the time with one of those? Never understood why houses always had these tiny 6 inch wide brooms. There are a lot of things I’ll never understand and this is one of...
A good memory
I’m writing this just after getting home from hockey. I went to the store and got myself a vitamin drink which I sometimes do, I’m usually dehydrated just normally from drinking too much coffee so its a good excuse to get a ‘gatorade’ like drink. And it disappears pretty quickly after a game. Back in ‘the day’ when I played in the KBHL (http://www.kbhl.org) we as a team, at least most of us would go to McDonalds. Usually McDonalds, sometimes other restaurants, it was basically on the way home for us so we would all find each other there after a game. We would take up 4 or 6 tables and even see other teams there. I did enjoy that, but that wasn’t exactly the memory. Often my parents would come cause my dad was coaching...
The Eclectic Blogger
Lindsey commented on my blogging style 2 weeks ago, she called it eclectic. Adjective: Deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. Noun: A person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. I take this as a complement. One of the things I always wanted to be was a good conversationalist with people I didn’t know, not necessarily a good small talker, but one who could speak intelligently about a wide range of subjects. Why? Well cause my dad could do that. I was always fascinated by the different people he would talk to on the street or church or wherever about ANYTHING. He could talk to blue collar folk, white collar, he could talk polictics, car...
Showing Integrity
(NKJV) Titus 2:6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded,(NKJV) Titus 2:7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,(NKJV) Titus 2:8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. So many of us are far from this standard. Did you know that God knows everything you look at and everything you do? He knows what videos and images you look at on facebook, from the boring funny photos to the slightly more sketchy photos / videos posted by your acquaintances that you hardly ever otherwise interact with. Or maybe you have a close friend who just posts crazy stuff that God most likely would not be amused with?? Of...
Daylight Savings Time
Daylight saving time (DST)—also summer time in several countries[1][2][3][4][5][6] including in British English and European official terminology (see Terminology)—is the practice of temporarily advancing clocks during the summertime so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn.[7] Modern DST was first proposed in 1895 by George Vernon Hudson.[8] Many countries have used it since then; details vary by location and change occasionally. So I get DST, allows more sun in the afternoon and therefore evening then ‘normal’. I get that. But why do we need it? I think we should shift ’9 to 5′ to the average sun up and...
