How to make a dust bath for your chickens – and setting up solar lights. Extending the daylight hours for the chickens can get them laying eggs again in the winter when they may have slowed or stopped. I decided to setup the timer again so we could have a few eggs for winter – so far its worked to get one chicken laying again, the rest are very young and still may not lay until spring. I also setup a dust bath with diatomaceous earth so they can use that to clean out mites from their feathers etc during the winter when the ground is otherwise frozen.
