I ruined my Makita HDP481z Hammerdrill chuck, not once, but TWICE! Here are the stories and how i went about fixing both situations.
1) i broke the chuck screw that holds the chuck on the drill
2) i ceased up the ratchet mechanism by running the drill in water for about 30 seconds which caused the ratchet locking mechanism to fail to act properly.
Solutions, as seen in the video is to a) get a new chuck screw and b) to get lots of oil in there and then work the chuck back and forth until (hopefully) it starts working again!
These are solutions you need on the homestead to fix tools that will inevitably break on you.
