How to (slightly) improve the audio on a 2010 iMac

This is a slight enhancement to the 2010 iMacs built in microphone. The mic on the iMac sits right on the top, so it doesn’t pick up audio well and what it does pic up is very tinny. I improved the gain by attaching a piece of cardboard (thats right, cardboard!) to the back of the iMac just to reflect a bit more of my voice down into the mic which helps with the pick up of it when i’m talking more softly. It does nothing though to deal with the tinny, absent sound of the internal mic. i look at options in this video and say good by to my ‘Rock Band’ thrift store mic!
