Sap Boiling For Maple Syrup Timelapse – About 8 hours

This time-lapse represents about 8 hours of boiling or so, around 20 litres of sap which when boiled down results in about 500ml or half litre of finished product – i.e. Maple Syrup.

This was shot with the Virb using 1/2 second time-lapse feature.

We did have fans and windows open to manage the humidity but we’ve done this for years, boiled down probably 100 litres of sap a year and we haven’t had too much for ill effects in the house. The nice part is the house smells like maple syrup and it humidifies the otherwise dry house too!
