Where is the promise of his coming?

Great time to remind all that God is not slack concerning His promises. Often those who follow bible prophecy start wondering whats up if something doesn’t happen as they expect.  Read the below and I will continue on:

3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.

Concerning Syria, it appears as though the immediate crisis was averted today as there is now officially a deal to dismantle weapons. Who knows if it will stick but at this point there isn’t an imminent threat of war. There are some other key things that came out of this though.

Note that the UK has pulled out ships from the Mediterranean, the US has pulled back all their ships away from the coast of Syria. BUT, Russia has increased the number of ships, they are actively moving ships into the area. They also agreed to continue with the sale of the S300 missile system to Syria, and a nuclear plant. You can see the war of Ezekiel 38 lining up here. Russia is now firmly in the scene, and arguably in  control of the middle east now. the US has lost super power status, Russia is driving the politics and security now. The war of Gog and Magog involves the countries of the north marching on Israel to take a sp(oil). Syria has to be in place and compliant with Russia and Iran in order to provide a corridor to travel to Israel. So at least in some way, Syria cannot be democratized or whatever the US had plans for, since that would limit the movement of Iran and Russia in the country. With Basher Assad still standing and in control, he is now able to continue to be the ally of Iran and Russia and work with them militarily toward their purposes. The line up of controls for and against in Ezekiel 38 are visibly built up right now in the region – amazing!

BUT… this war very likely does not start until Isaiah 17 comes to pass (destruction of Damascus which is likely by Israel). So  if Ezekiel 38 is taking visible shape, Russia the bear is back to its influential self in the middle east with military spread out across the middle east, how much sooner is the Damascus prophecy to coming to pass. And if that be the case, how much closer even still are things like the rapture?

Now different prophecy speakers suggest the rapture doesn’t have to occur before Isaiah 17. Some other things are lining up though to make me think we are very very close to some other biblically prophetic events. With the blood moons coming, we’ll soon find out if there is any significance to that – watch for Israel to get the temple mount back or an agreement there related time wise to the blood moons (past tetrads have occurred right around other big events, 1948 and 1967). Also the comet ISON promises to be a spectacular event, whether prophetic or not, I don’t know. Could this be one of the things that causes mens hearts to fail with fear, or the start of things that do that? Signs in the sun moon and stars. 2014 looks to be a heavily prophetic year.

Stay tuned and get into your bible. Lots of good bible prophecy speakers out there too.

The purpose of bible prophecy in large part is to verify the inspired nature of the word of God and to provide a hope for those who are waiting for His return.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. We are living in biblical times. If you ever wanted to live in bible times, we are in them, and we are in the most EXCITING times of the bible in fact.  The end of days, some spectacular things are going to occur, miracles, military wins and such and some already have (6 day war and the miracle of that, the miracle of Israel becoming a nation again after 2000 years)
