This World Is Not My Home

The last few months I’ve felt homeless. I see the world events, the state of the world, bible prophecy. It makes me want for a new home, one place where its safe, pure, renewed. A place where I don’t need to look for the next thing or worry about the days ahead.

I feel cloudiness, in my spirit I guess. Thats not a word I’ve ever used to describe anything. And it is hard to describe, its a bit of a tenseness,  an eager waiting and a little impatience. I see things building, things getting crazier, faster. Something in the world has to give. The middle east can’t go on with wars and rumours of wars forever can it? Constant aggression against Israel, constant antisemitism, constant downward motion of North America from good solid morals and footing based in the Word of God to… an idea that everyone is right, you can do what you want (unless you’re a christian, then everything you do is wrong). I feel a slight frustration at the political correctness in the media these days,  actually not slight at all there. I see things occurring that the bible said would be occurring and people are blind to it all. Right is wrong and wrong is right (yes there is a bible verse that says that is how it will be in the end days).

I really don’t look into the future that much anymore, I think we are THAT close to the conclusion of world history. I could be wrong. If I’m here in 20 years you can say ‘I told ya so’

Hebrews 13:14 For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our city in heaven, which is yet to come. 15 With Jesus’ help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of his name. 16 Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God. 17 Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this joyfully and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.

This world is not my home:

This world is not my home I’m just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know I have no friend like you
If heaven’s not my home then Lord what will I do
The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore

I have a loving mother just over in Gloryland
And I don’t expect to stop until I shake her hand
She’s waiting now for me in heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know…
[ guitar ]
Just over in Gloryland we’ll live eternaly the saints on every hand are shouting victory
Their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven’s shore
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord you know…
