Here are some images of our frozen river, the Wheatley River. Its mid February and its -20 or so. Today its -6 and the ice is all but melted unfortunately. I was hoping to do some skating on it, and maybe push a puck around. No such luck. The salt water definitely lowers the freezing point. Have a gander:
We had a few cool -20 nights but little to no wind so it wasn’t too bad at all. And now -6 is like nothing, though if the wind starts blowing, even +3 feels cold in this house!
