A super interesting topic is the worlds population. We’re nearing 7 billion people on earth. We will surpass that the people in the know estimate sometime in October or near end of 2011…
Most assume that the world has never seen this many human beings before. They would likely be incorrect. There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that in fact the earth has seen at least this many before, possibly even more prior to the Flood of Noah.
An interesting site detailing it is this one: http://ldolphin.org/popul.html
From the article:
Allowing for famine, disease, war, and disaster, a few sample calculations will show that the earth’s population could have easily reached several billions of people between the time of Adam and the time of the flood. It is even quite possible that the preflood population was much higher than it is now.
If you consider current population patterns, historically and currently, its actually very plausible that the earth had just as many humans on it prior to the flood. This is interesting for a number or reasons, A) it demonstrates that the bible can be confirmed and does make sense historically. ie, its accurate in its references to the generations and with it we can therefore determine world history from it and B) prophetically there might hints at patterns and timelines.
This is well into conjecture but what I wonder is whether Gods number of people is somewhere around 7 billion. 7 is Gods number of completion. Could it be that there were approximately 7 billion people on the earth at the time of the flood? And if so, could the clock be set similarly for our generations? As we get close to 7 billion, many prophetic items seem to be lining up, coincidence maybe… Things like the state of Israel being a nation, how close they are to a two state solution, the rise again of anti-semitism, Israels new found wealth in natural gas and oil that may present itself as the hook in the jaw biblically providing the nations excuse to come against Israel as a nation, etc. As well, the wonder around the year 2012, predictions here and there, world weather patterns, earthquakes. No single event would put us in prophetic times, but all of these things together look to be leading to a climax in time biblically speaking. There are so many patterns and examples in the bible that people like Chuck Missler illuminate that its hard to dismiss them once you hear about them.
That fact that earth will be reaching this historic milestone is simply one more interesting cog in the wheel of time leading to what the bible calls the end days. Oh, the pattern of the 6 days of creation and 7th day of rest comes in to play as well. Its been approximately 6000 years since creation which mirror the 6 days of creation. We’re very close to if not in the 7th day in terms of years on earth so that points as well that we are near to the climax of civilization. An exciting period in time that I think FAR too many are uninformed about. Why is this something people need to know? It gives us hope, it excites us, its like seeing the finish line in a race, it gives you the energy to keep on keeping on, the last few steps, we can see the finish line.
These are exciting times. People would say its morbid to like the times because of all the hardships. While I of course don’t like the hardships, the injustice, etc, all of those things remind me that soon, very soon justice will come upon the world, the Lord will return in glory and all things will be made right. I don’t hope for death and destruction, but when I see it, I recognize it simply means that scriptures are being fulfilled and that God will keep HIs promise and make things right soon.
How soon? Could we be reaching Gods number in terms of population and a similar number to pre-flood population? Keep an eye on it!
(NKJV) Matthew 24:37 “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
(NKJV) Matthew 24:38 “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
(NKJV) Matthew 24:44 “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
